Frédéric Jullien Associate professor

Frédéric Jullien has spent his entire career at Jean Monnet University and the LBVpam laboratory. He developed in vitro regeneration systems for mint and later, for lavandin.
He subsequently established GC-MS expertise in the laboratory and studied the terpenoid metabolism of lavender during its floral development. He then characterized numerous terpene synthases in lavender, rose, and most recently pelargonium.
Since 2016, he has been working on the diversity of terpenes in the genus Pelargonium and the characterization of genes involved in the biosynthetic pathways of mono- and sesquiterpenes. He has developed a stable transformation system in rose-scented pelargonium used in functional genetics.
